Best bet for president: Noli De Castro impressed with Lacson in GMA-7 interview


Broadcaster Noli De Castro is convinced that Senator Panfilo Lacson is the most qualified politiko to become president after watching his interview with veteran journalist Jessica Soho over the weekend.

De Castro said Monday (January 24) he was impressed by Lacson’s candidness in answering Soho’s questions, which ranged from his motivation for running for president to his opinion of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Lacson’s extensive knowledge of pressing issues such as disaster response and criminality also impressed De Castro, who served as Vice President from 2004 to 2010.

“Marami sa mga nakausap kong nakapanood ng interview ang humanga sa mga sagot ni Senator Ping. Alam niya talaga ang kanyang trabaho,” De Castro told Politiko in a text message.

On “The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews” aired January 22, Lacson said he’s running for president in hopes of transforming the Philippines into a better country for future generations.

“Ayoko na sanang magpatuloy pero nakita ko yung napakalaking problema ng bansa. Sa akin, tinitingnan ko itong presidency as a sacrifice kasi nakapagsilbi na ako. Nagawa ko na ang dapat kong gawin. ‘Yun ang aking satisfaction sa buhay,” he said.
