Lacson received the backing of transport groups in the Calabarzon district for his presidential bid in 2022, following a meeting with them in Lipa City in Batangas, on Tuesday. Lacson, who is running for President under Partido Reporma, vowed to help the transport groups address the issues affecting them, especially during the pandemic.
