  Ping Lacson on forgiving political foes, how to have abs, and his near-death experience Panfilo “Ping” Lacson is an award-winning former Director General of the Philippine National Police (PNP), now senator and presidential candidate known for his anti-crime and anti-corruption exploits, imposing a 34-inch waistline limit for the police, and refusing to use his senator’s pork barrel of P200 million a year.   Lacson thumbs down Martial law Mawab, Davao de Oro—Partido Reporma standard-bearer Panfilo “Ping” Lacson assured Filipinos democracy will be preserved and protected under his administration as he rejected outright concerns about bringing back the dark days of Martial law. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his campaign rally at the Lorenzo National High School here, Saturday, Lacson said imposing military rule or going the authoritarian route has never crossed his mind “No. Definitely, democracy will be preserved. No Martial law, no dictatorship,” he said.   Lacson says R&D, irrigation will improve Mindanao’s agriculture sector Presidential candidate Senator Panfilo Lacson on Saturday, Feb. 12 said that a Lacson presidency would seek to improve Mindanao’s agriculture sector through research and development (R&D) and irrigation. After staging rallies in Davao del Norte in southern Mindanao yesterday, Lacson told DZRH radio that his specific agenda for Mindanao, dubbed as the country’s “food basket”, is agriculture. Lacson said the implementation of his Free Irrigation Act should be followed up as the country has more than one million hectares still in need of irrigation. This should be supported by a strong R&D that would also focus on the banana industry as plantations face potential pests.

Panfilo "Ping" M. Lacson said. Lacson, who chairs the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, said that while Ukraine is far from the Philippines, an invasion there may have adverse effects worldwide. "We might think that Ukraine is far away, and that there is no danger for the Philippines. We are all living in a global village. An invasion of Ukraine may adversely affect the stock markets all over the world. Prices of basic commodities and fuel may increase.
