In my opinion, importation is a measure of last resort when all available remedies won't work to control the rising price of basic commodities and not the other way around. We should protect our own producers first and provide them the necessary capacity building to compete.

  Lacson Camp Scores Fake News that Bicol Sorties 'Canceled' April 29, 2022 -  Independent presidential bet Sen. Panfilo "Ping" M. Lacson was the target of fake news spreading Friday that he had canceled his campaign events in Bicol, particularly in Naga, Camarines Sur. Local organizers cited information reaching them that local media who were to attend Lacson's campaign in Naga were advised that the events were canceled. Ashley Acedillo, Lacson's spokesman, belied such reports even as he decried the dirty trick. "We are no longer surprised by such tactics as Election Day draws closer. That said, it does not take away the disgust over the acts of whoever is/are behind this fake news," Acedillo said.
